Cosmetic tattooing will last anywhere from one to five years. The longevity will come down to aftercare, lifestyle and the condition of your skin. Those with oily skin will find their skin type is more resistant to colour, while those with fair or dry skin may find their colour lasts much longer. Avoid exposure to sunlight and chlorine. To prolong your colour, annual touch-ups are recommended to keep it looking fresh and luminous.

WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR?

Cosmetic tattooing is suitable for most people and especially good for those suffering from make up related allergies.

Some things that may prevent you from having cosmetic tattooing:

• Not suitable during pregnancy or when breastfeeding

• Those on Accutane Retin A, topical steroids, prescription strength meds that affect the dermal layer of skin or blood thinners ^

• Auto-immune disease ^

• Diabetes: if you are insulin dependent your healing will be compromised ^

• Glaucoma, Blood Disorders, Heart conditions or uncontrolled high blood pressure^

• Keloid or hypertrophic scarring

Minimum 18 years of age. Otherwise a written consent from your legal guardian is required.

Getting cosmetic tattoo is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. The tattooing process lasts about an hour.  We use an excessive amount of numbing and our technique is very gentle. If you are nervous about pain, you may take 1-2 paracetamol before your appointment (absolutely no blood thinners i.e. ibuprofen)

No, we do not touch up work done by other artists or go over existing tattoos. We believe in providing our clients with the best possible results, which starts with a clean canvas and our own work.

Touchups are recommended for everybody. On touchup sessions, we can alter the shape and colour of your tattoo, go bolder or fill in spots that didn't retain pigment as well as others during healing. Touchups will also add longevity to the life of your tattoo. A Touch up can be booked no sooner than 4 weeks of your last appointment. Touch ups will be an extra charge and the touch up fee does go up after a period of time after your initial appointment.

• Do not consume caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment to prevent excessive pain and bleeding.

• DO NOT TAKE ADVIL or other blood thinners such a Aspirin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours prior to your procedure. Paracetamol can be taken if you have low pain tolerance.

• Avoid exercising the day of the procedure.

• Do not take or get any chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, vitamin E, retinols, fish oil, at least 4 weeks before your appointment.

Please read the aftercare and arrange your schedule accordingly to the healing stage. There is downtime for every procedure.
