THE PROCEDURE

The Permea Laser treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

Many clients describe a prickling, increased sensation of heat during the treatment. You may choose to have a topical anaesthetic applied prior to treatment in order to reduce any discomfort.

The laser treatments are very gentle and are specifically designed to reduce side effects associated with typical laser treatments. You may experience mild redness and subtle inflammation immediately after treatment. These generally resolve within a few hours but may last until the following day.

    BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Arrive with freshly cleansed skin, free of make up. If you wish to use local topical anaesthetic (LTA), please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment time to apply the LTA under our supervision to ensure it is applied correctly.  By law, we cannot supply or apply LTA on clients.  LTA is available to purchase at any pharmacy.  Some brands we recommend are Numb It and Emla.

To ensure optimal results from your treatment, please ensure no exfoliants or acid treatments are used within seven days of treatment. Avoid tanning or sun exposure two weeks prior and avoid microdermabrasion, waxing, chemical peels or laser hair removal two weeks prior too.

    POST TREATMENT CARE

Our dermal clinicians will tailor a bespoke post treatment care regime for you to ensure optimal results are achieved. In addition, we recommend the following to maximise results and recovery.

    • In the days immediately following treatment, use a gentle cleanser and avoid exfoliants of any type.
    • Excessive exercise, perspiration, swimming or exposure to the sun should be avoided for 48 hours post treatment.
    • Avoid scrubs, toners, glycolic acid, and retinoids until the skin as healed completely from your treatment.
    • If direct sun exposure is necessary, wear a hat and clothing that covers the treated area and diligently apply sunscreen.
